Because metallic pigments can penetrate the fabric fibers of cotton, cotton blends, and some synthetic fabrics, printing a clear underbase through a 305 mesh screen is recommended to produce a richer, deeper metallic finish. For best press performance, use a 60–110 t/in monofilament mesh with any direct or indirect emulsion or capillary film in the 35–70 micron range.
Triangle Ink 1190-59 Amethyst Purple Shimmer should be used directly from the container without modification. Adding reducers or other additives may reduce bleed resistance, opacity, or increase cure times. Stir the ink thoroughly before printing, cure at approximately 300°F (allowing for the reflective nature of metallic inks), and verify cure with wash testing during production.
