Photopolymer emulsions (SBQ emulsions) are pre-sensitized for fast exposure and easy use. They are the most commonly used emulsions in screen printing, especially for plastisol printing and LED exposure systems.

      When to Use Photopolymer Emulsion

      Photopolymer emulsions are best suited for:

      • plastisol ink printing
      • LED exposure systems
      • high detail artwork and halftones

      They are less forgiving than dual cure emulsions, so proper exposure control is important for consistent results.

      Photopolymer vs Dual Cure Emulsion

      Photopolymer emulsions expose faster and are easier to use since they require no mixing. However, they have a narrower exposure latitude.

      Dual cure emulsions expose more slowly but provide greater forgiveness and can handle a wider range of ink systems, including water-based and discharge inks. Dual cure emulsions are often preferred for water-based and discharge printing where additional durability is required.

      Choosing between the two depends on your exposure setup, ink type, and production needs.
