KIWO ULTRA PREP Quart is a ready-to-use mesh preparation solution for screen printing that combines degreasing, wetting, and antistatic treatment in one product. Designed for preparing screen printing mesh before coating, ULTRA PREP improves stencil adhesion and durability while supporting improved printability and copying properties. The quart size provides a convenient option for shops that prefer to keep a smaller quantity of mesh preparation solution on hand.
ULTRA PREP improves the flow properties of direct emulsions and the water transfer of capillary films and indirect stencil films. It also acts as a degreaser, helping prepare the mesh for proper stencil application. Improved adhesion of stencil systems to the mesh provides greater resistance during long printing runs, while improved ink printing properties can contribute to higher print quality and resolution. When used on newly meshed screens, ULTRA PREP can also help reduce the appearance of ghost haze images.
The antistatic component in ULTRA PREP helps reduce common static-related printing difficulties, such as ink spattering during printing. By combining degreasing, wetting, and antistatic support in one ready-to-use product, ULTRA PREP provides screen printers with an efficient solution for mesh preparation.
Apply KIWO ULTRA PREP after the reclaiming and haze removal process and before coating the screen. The product can be applied to the mesh with a brush, sponge, squirt bottle, or spray bottle. For cleaning and degreasing, use a soft nylon-bristle brush and work from both sides of the screen until ULTRA PREP is evenly distributed across the mesh.
After application, rinse the screen in a vertical position using cold or lukewarm water. Continue rinsing until the water runs off without foaming and a uniform water film is visible across the mesh. Capillary films and indirect stencil films can then be transferred to the prepared mesh according to their application instructions. The screen must be dry before coating with direct photo emulsions or capillary films that are applied using transfer emulsions.
KIWO ULTRA PREP has a clear to milky white appearance, a liquid consistency, a pH value of 4.7, and contains no VOCs. KIWO lists a shelf life of two years when stored at 68°F (20°C). The gallon size provides a convenient quantity for screen printing shops that regularly prepare screens as part of their screen-making workflow.
